A producer on a TV show called “America’s Best Bites” a new original show features the best versions of popular dishes, like hamburgers and desserts, that America has to offer.

From the producer:

It is all about the most popular dishes at places locals love to eat. The show will initially reach 37 million homes on various Tribune stations nationwide and debut 9/24/11.

As we researched coast to coast, several people kept mentioning The Cobbler Lady as a can’t miss place for this series. We think the Peach Cobbler sounds like the ideal bite to feature in our Dessert episode. We would be thrilled to hear more about your business. Could we find a time in the next day that would work to talk about the bite, how it’s made and your own story?

We spoke with her and it looks like they will be filming at our location around August

Some say that entrepreneurs are made, and some say that they are born. I was born an entrepreneur. One of my favorite pastimes that I remember as a little girl was sitting at the kitchen table watching momma cook. She always took her time and she seemed to enjoy chopping, stirring and tasting. I guess that’s where I got it from, when I cook at home I like to put on some music and something good to sip on and I am ready to go.

I remember getting up early on Saturday mornings to cook breakfast for the family. My feelings were hurt when my brother didn’t appreciate my homemade red syrup and pink pancakes…Didn’t he know that I was being creative?

” Momma please can I cook dinner tonight?” My mother would finally give in and let me cook dinner sometimes on Friday and Saturday nights…it was usually something easy like chili dogs, hamburgers or tacos. Sometimes I would answer the phone “Pam’s Kitchen”…who knew.

Through the years of school and work I carried many desires but one dream and that was to have my own business and since cobblers were my favorite dessert why not a cobbler shop. I loved making people smile when they tasted my cobblers.

It’s not easy starting a business with less than $1000…but it can be done:-) All I knew was that I had a dream and it was going to happen…I could see the people standing in line and the cobblers coming out of the oven…but I didn’t see the long hours that I had to put in to make it happen. With the support of family and the encouragement of friends…here I am 19 years later…still baking memories…If I had a dollar for everyone that said “This taste like my Grandmothers cobbler”.
